    Objective To report a case of the implantation of thyroid hyperplastic or neoplastic tissue after endoscopic thyroidectomy and discuss this complication in aspects of prevalence, pathogenesis, protection, and therapies.
    Methods A systematic search of literature from the PubMed database was conducted for identifying eligible studies on implantation of thyroid hyperplastic or neoplastic cells after endoscopic thyroid surgery.
    Results Overall, 5 reported cases on patients suffering from endoscopic thyroid surgery with implantation of thyroid hyperplastic or neoplastic cells were included in the systematic review.
    Conclusions Unskilled surgeons, rough intraoperative surgical treatment, scarification or rupture of tumor, contamination of instruments, chimney effect, aerosolization of tumor cells may be associated with the implantation after endoscopic thyroidectomy. To minimize the risk of such complication, we should be more meticulous and strict the endoscopic surgery indications.

  • pSVPoMCAT微基因修饰雪旺氏细胞移植治疗实验性脊髓损伤的酶及免疫组化评价

    Objective To investigate the effect of microgene pSVPoMcat to modify genetically Schwann cell(SC) on recovery of function after spinal cord injury(SCI).Methods Experimental animals were divided into three groups:the group of microgene pSVPoMcat implanted to genetically(group A),SC implanted group(group B),and the control group(group C),each group having 10 animals.The cortical somatasensory evoked potentials(CSEP) and combined behavioral score(CBS) were continually monitored from operation second week to twelfth week.We used image analysis system to compare the latent period and peak amplitudes of CSEP and count the axon number among the different group.At the same time,electron microscope obsevation was conducted.Results The peak latency and amplitudes of group A,B showed a recovery tendency and it was constant with CBS.The number of regenerated axons of the group A and group B were (388± 163) and (109± 16),respectively(P < 0.01),in line with the observation of electron microscope.Conclusion We conclude that microgene pSVPoMcat to modify genetically SC plays a promoting role in recovery of central function after SCI.

    Objective To study the biological effects of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the process of embryo implantation in mouse Materials & Methods The transcription and translocation of bFGF and its receptor (Flg) in endometrium of 60 Kunming mice were detected with the methods of im munohistochemistry and hybridization in situ. Endometrial tissue was obtained on the day 4 from pregnancy mice. The cells were cultured and attached in 1 : 1 F12/DMEM (vol/vol) supplemented with 10% FBS for 24 h The medium supplemented with 1% FBS and bFGF (50 ng/mL), anti-bFGF antibody (250 ng/mL) or anti-Flg antibody (250 ng/mL) was added in different culture wells. At different culture stages, the biological effect of bFGF on cell survival and expression of LN, FN and c-myc was detected by using MTT analysis, immunohistochemistry and hybridization in situ.Results bFGF and Flg was located in luminal and glandual cells on day 4 and 5 of pregnancy. Embryonic implantation was accompanied by increased bFGF and its recep tor in decidual cell around implantation site, in which low level of bFGF and its recep tor was apparent on day 7 and 8 of pregnancy. In vitro, the OD value in culture wells containing bFGF was significantly higher than that in control group. Exogenous bFGF promoted the expression of LN, FN and c-myc.Conclusion Changes in the cell-specific distribution of bFGF and the effects of bFGF on cultured endometrial cells imply a multifunctional role of the growth factor in uterine cell proliferation, differentiation and embryonic implantation.
