Hemiplegia caused by stroke indicates dysfunction of the network between the brain and limbs, namely col ateral shock in the brain. Contralateral needling is the insertion of needles into acupoints on the relative healthy side of the body to treat diseases such as apoplexy. However, there is little wel-designed and control ed clinical evidence for this practice. This study investigated whether contralateral needling could treat hemiplegia after acute ischemic stroke in 106 randomly selected patients with acute ischemic stroke. These patients were randomly assigned to three groups:45 in the contralateral needling group, receiving acupuncture on the unaffected limbs; 45 in the tional acupuncture group, receiving acupuncture on the hemiplegic limbs; and 16 in the control group, receiving routine treatments without acupuncture. Acupuncture at acupoints Chize (LU5) in the upper limb and Jianliao (TE14) in the lower limb was performed for 45 minutes daily for 30 consecutive days. The therapeutic effective rate, Neurological Deficit Score, Modified Barthel Index and Fugl-Meyer Assessment were evaluated. The therapeutic effective rate of contralateral needl-ing was higher than that of conventional acupuncture (46.67% vs. 31.11%, P < 0.05). The neuro-logical deficit score of contralateral needling was significantly decreased compared with conven-tional acupuncture (P < 0.01). The Modified Barthel Index and Fugl-Meyer Assessment score of contralateral needling increased more significantly than those of conventional acupuncture (both P<0.01). The present findings suggest that contralateral needling unblocks col aterals and might be more effective than conventional acupuncture in the treatment of hemiplegia fol owing acute ischemic stroke.

Maintaining standing postural balance is important for walking and handling abilities in patients with cerebral palsy. This study included 23 patients with cerebral palsy (seven with spastic diplegia and 16 with spastic hemiplegia), aged from 7 to 16 years of age. Standing posture balance measure-ments were performed using an AMTI model OR6-7 force platform with the eyes open and closed. Patients with diplegic cerebral palsy exhibited greater center of pressure displacement areas with the eyes open and greater center of pressure sway in the medial-lateral direction with the eyes open and closed compared with hemiplegic patients. Thus, diplegic patients exhibited weaker postural balance control ability and less standing stability compared with hemiplegic cerebral palsy patients.

针刺与肌张国平衡促法对卒中偏瘫患者早期康复的作用
Objective To explore the effects of acupuncture and balance facilitation of muscular tension on the early rehabilitation of patients with stroke and hemiplegia. Methods Divided the 96 patients with acute stroke hemiplegia into group A and B randomly (group B as control). Evaluate the rehabilitation before and after therapy, and deal with the data in statistics. The courses are 26 to 28 days. In group A, stab negative channel and points of upper limb as well as positive channel and points of lower limb of paralysis side in flaccid paralysis stage. After the muscular tension resumed, stab positive points of upper limb and negative points of lower limb, and try to recover the balance of muscular tension, and avoid muscular spasm to establish normal moving pattern. Results Compared with control group, group A had prominent difference on the process of muscular tension resuming, incidence rate of muscular spasm, the ratio of reducing of neurologic impairment scores and increasing of motor function integral (FMA), MBI of the ability of daily life (ADL) as well as index of quality of life (QLI), P<0.01. Conclusion Acuppuncture and balance facillitation of muscular tension are useful in the early rehabilitation in hemiplegia.

早期心理干预对脑卒中偏瘫患者心理健康的影响
AIM:To observe the influence of psychological intervention on mental health of hemiplegias after stroke.METHODS:82 hemiplegias after stroke were divided into control and intervention groups in certain conditions.Patients in control group received only routine treatment, while patients in intervention group received psychological intervention as well.Symptom Checklist was adopted to measure the mental health of patients.RESULTS:The scores of panic, anxiety, depression and stubborn in intervention group were significantly lower than that in control(P< 0.05 or P< 0.01). CONCLUSION:Early psychological intervention can improve the mental health of hemiplegias after stroke.

早期康复介入对急性脑卒中重度偏瘫患者运动功能恢复的影响
Objective To observe influence of early rehabilitation intervention on motor function of acute stroke patients with severe hemiplegia.Method We evaluate 58 cases of acute stroke with severe hemiplegia with FMA method and Barthel index, observe influence of early rehabilitation intervention on recovery of motor function.Result Motor function after treatment was promoted apparently compared with control group(P< 0.05).Conclusion Early rehabilitation intervention can promote motor function recovery of acute stroke patients with severe hemiplegia.
